Vision

The Vision of Delivering Word Bible Church is to glorify Jesus Christ by gathering as family, growing in faith and giving out freely.

Purpose

The Purpose of Delivering Word Bible Church is “to equip disciple-makers” to proclaim Jesus Christ; who saves the lost, liberates the bound, restores the broken and empowers the weak.

Affirmation of Faith

We believe the Bible is the Word of God; fully inspired by the Holy Spirit without error in thought and original manuscripts. We will not add or take away from God’s blue print and final authority for Humanity. II Timothy 3: 15-17, II Peter 1: 19-21, Revelation 22:18-19

We believe and worship one God who is revealed in three distinct persons: The Father, The Son Christ Jesus and The Holy Spirit. All three are harmoniously unified without confusion. Deuteronomy 6:4, John 1:14-15, John 10:30

We believe that everyone is born a sinner, separated from God because of Adam the first man’s sin and in need of a Savior. Romans 6:6-17

We believe that Jesus: the only Begotten Son was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and died sacrificially by crucifixion atoning sufficiently for eternal sin. John 3:16, John 19:14-16,1st Peter 2:21-24, 1st John 3:5, 1st Corinthians 15:1-4

We believe that Christians are saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone which is a work of the Holy Spirit on the heart bringing about repentance. Evidence of one who is repentant consist of having a changed mind, hatred toward personal sin-past and present, accepting ones sinfulness then turning to Jesus as their only Lord and Savior. We don’t believe in perfection but spiritual progression. Romans 5:10-11, Ephesians 2:8-10

We believe in water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s supper; these being ceremonial practices for those in relationship with Jesus. Romans 6:1-10, Matthew 26:26-28

We believe in the “Church Universal”; built by Christ, experienced by those in relationship with Him and expressed by the “Church Local”.  The church is the Bride of Christ and symbol to the world of His Kingdom love. We shall preserve her unity. Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 5:22-33, Hebrews 10:19-2

We believe God has given spiritual gifts to His church for equipping, building, unifying and maturing the saints. Ephesians 4:11-13

We believe in the second coming of Christ, a visible and physical return implementing His final judgment on the wicked and establishment of his final Kingdom for His people. 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18

The Word of God

God’s Word is fully inspired without error in original manuscripts and written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Scriptures are the only sufficient, certain and infallible way for understanding saving knowledge, faith and obedience for conduct as a Christian. 2 Timothy 3: 15-17, 2 Peter 1: 19-21,Romans 15: 4, Mark 13: 31,John 20: 31,Acts 20: 32

God the Father

The Father created all things in six literal days for His own glory. He is self-existing, not created by human hands and in His compassion revealed Himself to mankind. Genesis 1:1, 2:1,4, Revelation 4:11,Psalms 90:2,Numbers 23:19, Acts 17:24

God the Son

Jesus Christ, second person of the triune God by love took on human flesh according to the will of the Father was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus being truly God and truly man without compromise lived a sinless life so through His shed blood on the cross became the propitiatory sacrifice for the sins of all who place their faith in Him. After three days dead in the tomb, Jesus physically and visibly arose; later ascending to the right hand of God the Father in heaven. He presently reigns there as mediator between God and man; the Head of the Church. John 1: 1-5, Galatians 4:1-5, Philippians 2:5-11, 2 Corinthians 5: 21, Acts 2: 32-33, Col. 1: 18

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third distinct person of our triune God. He is an active indwelling power, Comforter and Teacher given at conversion to those saved by grace through faith. He convicts of sin, leads in righteousness and compels sinners to repentance in response to the Gospel. The Holy Spirit permanently indwells at the point of salvation which isn’t earned nor lost. The Holy Spirit is not a mystical or bias gift for special groups of believers. He performs miraculous acts when and how He so chooses as a testimony of Himself.John 16:8, 13:15, Acts 1:8; Titus 3:5, Ephesians 4:11-12, 30,Romans 8:9-17, 12:4-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-5, 11-13, 19,Galatians 5:25, Hebrews 10: 15-2

The Gospel

The Gospel is the “good news” of God’s predetermined redemptive plan to deliver His people. It communicates the disobedience of sinful humanity, our separation from a loving and Holy God who required a perfect sacrifice to appease His anger toward sin. The Gospel gives a historically accurate and prophetic account of God’s salvation plan through Jesus Christ. This liberating narrative calls humanity to turn to Him. It must be preached to the ends of the earth. Romans 5:14-15, Matthew 24:14, Mark 1:14-15, 16:15, Luke 24:47, 1 Timothy 4:1-5, 2 Peter 3:9

Salvation

According to the scriptures Jesus Christ died for our sins as the substitutionary atonement. Apart from Christ we are spiritually dead and separated from God because of the imputed sin nature inherited from Adam’s disobedience. Believers are saved from hell and control of the flesh. God chose us according to the good pleasure of His will and not our own. This salvation is sealed by the power of the Holy Spirit which guarantees our perseverance until the day of eternal redemption. 2 Corinthians 5: 21,1 Peter 2: 24, John 14: 6, Genesis 3, Ephesians 1: 13-14, 2 Corinthians 1: 21-22

Repentance

Repentance is a spiritually changed mind granted by the Holy Spirit. This doesn’t happen through “will power” or “natural ability” but by God Himself. Repentance produces a life that expresses genuine sorrow over personal sin, an inner pursuit for God, love for others and a desire to share this faith with the lost. Luke 24: 45-48, 2 Timothy 2:25, 2 Corinthians 7:10, Matthew 3:8, 6:33,1 John 3:5,Romans 1:16

Justification

Sin was imputed into all mankind by Adam alone making everyone sinners. Righteousness is imputed by Christ alone to those who believe in Him. Christ was obedient to the whole law as He lived on earth and He continued obeying to the point of death on the cross. We are made righteous by faith in Christ’s finished the work on the cross. Romans 3:24, 4:5-8, 5:17-19, 8:30-34, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 3, Philippians 3:8, 9

Regeneration

Humanity is created in the image of God but sinned incurring physical, spiritual and eternal death; which is separation from God. However through conviction by the Holy Spirit after hearing and believing the Gospel one comes into saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. That person is made a new creation, the old is passed away and they are born again. Genesis 1:26,Genesis 3,Ezekiel 36: 27,Romans 1:16, 8:28, Ephesians 1: 10-11, 2: 8, John 3:3, 3:5-8, 5: 24

Sanctification

Sanctification After God pulls the believer out of death into life by regeneration He begins conforming them into His Son Jesus’ image by renewing the mind. Over time God continuously matures and grows them in the faith. Romans 12: 2, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Ephesian 4: 13-15, Colossians 3: 9-10

Baptism

Baptism is one of two ordinances established and practiced by the church. The Scriptures teach Christian baptism by water for the believer. Immersion is DWBC’s form of Baptism. Baptism is an outward sign of the death, burial and resurrection which we share in Jesus Christ. Thus, we believe that Baptism is only reserved for those who have repented of their sin and have received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Mark 1:9, 10, Colossians 2:12, Acts 2:37-41, 8:12, Galatians 3:27

The Lord’s Supper

The Lord’s Supper is the second ordinances practiced by the church. It is taken only by those who have repented of their sins and received the gift of salvation from Jesus Christ. This is a time of self-examination and meditation on the work of Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Supper should never be served to non-believers or done in a selfish manner. Matthew 26:26-29, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

The Church

The Church is expressed and experienced corporately with other believers. Believers are in covenant relationship with God and each other. The “Church Universal” and the “Church Local” put God’s Glory on display magnifying the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:24-25

The Return of Christ

Christ will come back to the earth, establish His kingdom and judge all men. Those who were not dead beforehand but remained will be caught up with Him. Our leadership and congregation vary on the non-essential details concerning the second coming of Christ and His reign, however we are unified that the scriptures validate His return for His church. Matthew 25:31-34, Luke 1:31-33; Acts 1:10-11, 2:29-30, Revelation 20:1-7, John 5:22, 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18
